As you can tell that I haven't been updating, to be perfectly honest, I'm losing interest in running this site despite the fact that I haven't had very much time to work on my sites. I feel so bad about this, but I feel it's for the best.
I will be looking for a new webmaster for this site, you can buy the site or you can just manage it. If there isn't anyone who would like to take over the site, I will have to close it. I know it's not something people like to hear, but what else is there in options?
I would definitely love to see this site live on because it's Stephen's first fansite that has officially been open with so much content and news. I know Stephen himself wouldn't like to see this site gone, so if anyone who has the dedication to keep this site online, send an e-mail my way and we'll discuss it.
Move over, Seth, Viggo and Julianne. Another movie is in town, and it has local writers -- KDKA Radio host Larry Richert and actor John Mowod (son of jazz host Tony Mowod) -- along with a story that will take advantage of the horses and heavenly scenery at the Meadows racetrack and nearby.
Yesterday was the first day of shooting on "Shannon's Rainbow," an inspirational family drama starring Julianne Michelle as a grieving teen who discovers both the mother she never knew and love for a hobbled horse, Rainbow.
Claire Forlani plays her mom, and the cast also includes Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Eric Roberts, Charles Durning, Steve Guttenberg, Stephen Colletti, Jason Gedrick and a pair of fillies as Rainbow.
Hannah, dressed in a white T-shirt, melon-colored sweater and casual pants with sandals, yesterday ducked out of her trailer at Ohio Valley General Hospital in Kennedy to chat. She has a weakness for animal stories and a farm sanctuary with rescued horses, alpacas, chickens and other creatures great and small.
This was her first trip to town, prompting Richert to joke, "We brought Daryl Hannah to Pittsburgh," although she mainly got to see the inside of a hospital, where she plays a therapist. When Michelle appeared, in hospital gown and bracelet, Hannah said, "This little one's phenomenal" and gave her some tips about bonding with horses.
"Shannon's Rainbow" was inspired by Mowod watching his brother, Joe, rehabilitate an injured horse named Keystar, who went on to race and win in Lexington, Ky. "He loved the horse; he just wanted the horse to be able to walk in a field," Mowod recalled.
Richert picked up the story from there: "So, nine years ago, one of my best friends, whose name is Jeff Gardner, was acting with John in Ohio, and they had become friends, and he introduced me to John." Mowod and Gardner collaborated on a treatment or outline of the movie.
"But tragically, my friend was killed," Richert said. "I did the eulogy at his funeral, and John came to me afterward and said, 'Larry, I'd like you to write this screenplay with me that Jeff and I were going to do.'"
They spent 14 months writing the film, which takes its name from Jeff's oldest daughter. "Rainbow, the horse, is a metaphor for what happens after this darkness," both on and off screen. The movie will be dedicated to Gardner.
One of Larry's brothers, David, is a cameraman in Los Angeles who passed along the script to director Frank E. Johnson, now part of SummitWorks LLC, making the movie with Supernova Media. The writers fought to keep the movie here, and the state's tax incentive program sealed the deal.
Charles Morrison of SummitWorks said the movie, which counts Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dean Cundey among the crew, will shoot until July 25. He hopes it will arrive in theaters before Christmas once distribution is secured.
His movie mission: "We're focusing on good, wholesome, entertaining, engaging films. ... Our concept is, when you take your kids to the movies, you're not going to be cringing in your seat, you're not going to be embarrassed to be with them."
Stephen Expected to Attend Palm's Place Grand Opening
On Saturday, George Maloof's Palms Place opens officially. This much anticipated opening is striving to attract global media attention. One person who has a strong interest in the opening getting a lot of coverage is Spears' business manager, Larry Rudolph. Rudolph is an owner of Sunset Tan at Palms Place. Speculation has been that, with Spears being a friend of Maloofs and connected to Rudolph, we could expect her to be in Vegas on Saturday night. I e-mailed Rudolph and asked him if Spears planned to attend the opening. His answer was unequivocal: "She's not coming to Vegas this weekend."
Here, from the media press release, is the list of more modest celebrities expected to attend, the biggest names being Jessica Simpson and Luke Wilson:
"Ashley Scott (“Jericho”), Eve, Donald Faison (“Scrubs”), Jessica Simpson, Ian Ziering (“Dancing With The Stars”), Lauren “Lo” Bosworth (“The Hills”), Lauren Conrad (“The Hills), Lisa Rinna (“Dancing With The Stars”), Luke Wilson, Michael Vartan ("Monster in Law"), Pete Wentz, Robert Iler (“The Sopranos”), Romany Malco ("The Love Guru"), Sarah Larson, Stephen Colletti (“The Hills"), Verne Troyer ("The Love Guru")."
I thought it was finally time for a new layout, so here it is! Some lighter colors for the summer and the layout is also completely inspired by Carol's layout over at Chris-Pine.org. Of course hers is still a million times better than this one, but I still like this layout too or else I wouldn't've put it up. Comments are appreciated!
Spoiler Chat: Lost Cast Changes, Hills Coupling Is On and Heroes Plans Shocker!
Wendy in Seattle: Any word on The Hills? I cannot stop watching and obsessing about that show. Please help me! I'm currently working with the scientists at Cal Tech to develop medication or shock therapy for this ailment, as I have it, too. I'll keep you posted. Not sure if this should technically be in the spoiler section, but sources close to the show tell me that Lauren Conrad and Stephen Colletti (also seen on One Tree Hill) are "heating up" in their "rekindled romance!" Holla! And get this: Word is, Stephen may actually be moving to Los Angeles to live with Lauren this summer during One Tree Hill's hiatus. Juicy, no? Says the source: "They're doing really well together."
OK, so as you can tell I haven't been updating anything on the site lately and I'm terribly sorry. I've been getting so many more hours at work and my two summer courses are taking up more time than I thought, so I'm looking for someone to manage the site, could be a temporary spot, but depending on the dedication, I might make the position a perminant one. If you are interested, please e-mail me at webmaster@stephencollettifan.net.
Last night's episode of The Hills showed us just how far Southern California's most bemusing tarts have come.
Because they're big girls now, Lauren, Lo, and Audrina have moved from their overpriced apartments into one big overpriced house, as plush and spacious as any overexposed girl in their early 20s could hope for. Luckily, the house has a separate guest house in which to hide Audrina when the others want to talk trash on her behind her backwhich is often.
Because they're also bitches now, Lauren and Lo provide one of the season's best awkward moments, when, making up a batch salsa with Audrina for their housewarming party, the subject of Justin Bobby surfaces. Lo takes a claws-out swipe at JB's amusing hat preferences, and all goes quiet, with dear Audrina looking around helplessly with her sweet, vacant eyes, wondering just how she'd ever come to live with these terrible monsters. The moment is so Mean Girls it's fair to wonder if L and L have been studying up on it in hopes of maxing their nastiness quotient.
But the one who has really grown up, in shirt size at least, is Laguna Beach's Stephen Colletti. He who chose Kristin Cavallari over LC back in the day, is now a deep-voiced bro, no longer that skinny high school/college dude we knew on Laguna Beach. (Dear god, how long have we been monitoring the lives of these kids?) He looks good, he's filled out, his shoulders have broadened. Lauren and Lo eye him like a prime cow at market in the tiki-torched soft light of their housewarming party. Yeah, Lauren, you better get on this while you can. In five years, he'll be just another SoCal guy with a paunch and a second chin coming in beneath a receding hairline. Strike while the meat is hot, girls.
But this being Lauren's awkward little life, nothing happens. Stephen takes her out to dinner at Il Cielo, a nice Italian place in Beverly Hills. Oh how far they've come since those Italian dinners in Laguna Beach at Pomodoro, when the chain restaurant was one of the few places where MTV could film. Lauren wears a dress that screams "I'm trying hard, please make a move, let us finally consummate our relationship for the cameras," but no such luck.
